Many heartburn sufferers are under the erroneous belief that natural heartburn remedies do not exist. I once thought the same thing until I learned the truth. There are a few things you can do to get rid of heartburn now. Read on to learn more!

Living with gastric reflux is a miserable experience. Common acid reflux symptoms include having a sour taste in your mouth, burning in the chest, mouth and throat, and being unable to get a restful night of sleep. There are times when you would pay almost any amount to simply have the pain go away. Fortunately, learning to get rid of heartburn can be as simple as making a few change to your diet.

Perhaps the easiest way to keep your heartburn at bay is to eat five to six small meals instead of eating three large ones. Having larger quantities of food in you stomach stimulates your stomach to produce additional acid. When you eat smaller meals you are effectively reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces.

In addition to eating smaller meals, try not to eat within three hours of going to sleep. When you lay down to sleep it is much easier for acid to escape into your esophagus. During the day, gravity helps to keep acid where it belongs; in your stomach. When you lay down you lose this natural protection against acid reflux. By not eating at least three hours before bed you also limit the amount of acid that is being produced, further reducing the likelihood of getting gastric reflux.

Trying to get rid of heartburn may be as simple as making a few minor changes to your lifestyle. Eat smaller meals more often throughout the day and avoid eating within three hours of going to sleep. Following these two simple steps will help reduce your acid reflux symptoms.
